THE VILLAGES – Bill Harte, 79, passed from this life after a courageous battle with cancer on Friday, February 13, 2015. Born in Chicago, IL he was the son of the late Myles and Edith (Smith) Harte. Bill served his country for eight years in the U.S. Air force and was a veteran of the Korean War. He was a truck driver for Continental Baking Co.  Bill moved to The Villages from Streamwood, Illinois in 2001. He was a member of St. Timothy’s Catholic Church and enjoyed golf, reading and swimming. He was most proud of his marriage of 55 years to his wife Carol and their family. Sadly, he was predeceased by his sons Michael and Timothy Harte.

Bill leaves his wife Carol, a daughter, Maureen O’Reilly (Jamie) of Mesa, AZ, brother, George Harte (Pat) of Downers Grove, IL, sister, Linda Harte of Westmont, IL and six grandchildren.

The family will receive relatives and friends at a visitation to be held at the Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services 1511 Buenos Aires Blvd., The Villages on Monday, February 16, 2015 from 3 to 7 PM. Burial will be in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Palatine, IL. In lieu of flowers memorial contribution may be made to The Lane Purcell Hospice or a charity of choice.
