Blood draw may help determine cause of crash on Buena Vista Boulevard

A blood draw taken from a woman whose car crashed into a median may help determine the cause of the accident this past week on Buena Vista Boulevard.

Paige Le Ann Pennington, 52, of Oxford, had been at the wheel of 2010 Lincoln Navigator at about 5 p.m. Aug. 26 when the vehicle left the roadway, ran onto the center median and overturned, according to an accident report from the Florida Highway Patrol. Witnesses said the vehicle had been driving erratically, changing lanes and having trouble maintaining lanes prior to the accident north of the County Road 472 roundabout, the report indicated.

Pennington was transported by ambulance to The Villages Regional Hospital where blood was drawn as part of the investigation. The FHP report indicated she may have been under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
