Bodies discovered in vehicle parked at Dollar General store in Weirsdale

The Marion County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after a dead man and woman were discovered Saturday morning in a vehicle parked at Dollar General in Weirsdale. 

Deputies received a call for service in reference to two unresponsive individuals found in a car in the parking lot of the store located at 13842 SE Hwy. 42, When deputies arrived on the scene, they discovered the bodies in a maroon SUV parked toward the rear-side of the business.

Deputies immediately secured the scene and MCSO Major Crimes detectives responded to conduct a death investigation. MCSO Forensic Crime Scene technicians and the Medical Examiner’s Office also responded to collect evidence and assist in the investigation.

Both deaths are considered to be suspicious in nature. A cause and manner of death has not been released and the names of the deceased will be released pending next of kin notification.
