A 52-year-old man with multiple drunk driving convictions was jailed on $21,000 bond following his arrest at 11 p.m. Sunday at the Circle K service station at Bella Cruz Drive in The Villages.

A Sumter County sheriff’s deputy found David M. Mihalko in his vehicle in an intoxicated state, according to the arrest report. The keys were in the ignition and the vehicle was running, the arrest report indicated.

When the deputy asked Mihalko if he was OK, Mihalko responded, “No, I have had enough to drink.”

He failed field sobriety exercises and later refused to give a breath sample.

A criminal history check showed Mihalko had three previous DUI convictions between 2000 and 2009 in Michigan and Iowa.
