Bonnie Barton Sandridge, of Lady Lake, Florida, died at The Villages Regional Hospital in The Villages, Florida on Monday, May 16, 2016 at the age of 84. Bonnie Glaye Barton was born to Corbin Lee and Sally Kathleen (Shoemaker) Barton on March 16, 1932 in Russell County, Virginia. She married William Edward Sandridge of Charlottesville, Virginia on April 18, 1954 in Russell County, Virginia. He preceded her in death on September 16, 1995 after 41 years together.
She was also preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, B. Frank Barton and Gerald Preston Lee Barton.
Bonnie worked at a variety of employment in Charlottesville, Virginia; Minnesota, Wisconsin and Illinois until she and Ed settled in Mason City, Illinois with their two daughters, however, most of their life together she spent as a homemaker who loved to garden and who grew the most beautiful flowers. She and Ed retired to The Villages, Florida in 1986.
Surviving Bonnie are her two daughters, Mary (Marty) Dzuro of Lady Lake, Florida; and Ellen (Mike) Eigenbrod of Mason City, Illinois; her three grandchildren, Elizabeth (Kyle) Sampson, John (Erika) Eigenbrod and Marty Dzuro; two great-grandsons, Kaleb Eigenbrod and Aiden Sampson; her sister, Susie (Harry) Fife; her sister-in-law, Charlotte Barton and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Bonnie will be held at Beyers Funeral Home Chapel in Lady Lake, Florida on Sunday, May 22, 2016 beginning at 2:30 p.m. Visitation will be one-half hour prior to the service. A private interment and burial will take place on Monday, May 24, 2016 at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida. The family wishes to thank the staff of Harbor Cove in Lady Lake for their loving care during the last weeks of Bonnie’s life.
