Bonnie G. Sands, 94, of Oxford, FL, passed away Monday, November 28, 2016. Mrs. Sands was born October 3, 1922 in Oxford to George Wesley and Dannie (Perry) Fort. She has lived in Oxford all of her life. She retired from the Sumter County School Board after many years of service. Bonnie was a member of Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Oxford and loved taking care of her family, being with her sisters, fishing and cooking. Survivors include her children, Kenny Baker (Linda) of Oxford, Donna Gaye Wood (Bill) of Wildwood, Billy Sands (Betty) of Oxford and Joey Sands (Cindy) of Oxford; 12 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Bonnie was preceded in death by her first husband, Kenneth Allen Baker; second husband, William Elbert Sands and 6 siblings. Visitation will be held 5 – 7 p.m., Wednesday, November 30, 2016 in the Banks/Page-Theus Chapel. Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Thursday, December 1, 2016 in the Banks/Page-Theus Chapel with interment following in Pine Level Cemetery, Oxford.
