Broken brake light leads to man’s arrest on charge of driving while license suspended

A broken brake light led to a Mount Dora man’s arrest on a charge of driving with a suspended license Tuesday afternoon.

A Lady Lake police officer observed 26-year-old Anthony Galioto driving a 1998 Dodge northbound on U.S. Hwy. 27/441 near Rolling Acres Road. The vehicle had a broken brake light and an illegal rear window tint, according to an arrest report. The police officer conducted a traffic stop in Rolling Oaks Plaza.

The officer discovered that Galioto’s privileges to operate a motor vehicle in Florida were suspended as of March 15 for failing to pay a traffic fine.  Galioto has had two previous driving without license convictions in 2016.

Galioto was taken into custody and transported to the Lake County Jail. Bond was set at $2,000.
