Bruce Allen Marx, 77, of The Villages, FL, went to be with the Lord on July 14, 2017 at Cornerstone Hospice. Bruce was born Dec.27,1939 to Matthew and Cleta Marx in Kansas City, Mo.

Bruce attended Argentine High School in K.C., KS. and 2 yrs. at K.C.Mo. Junior College. He joined the Air Force and was stationed at the SAC base in Rapid City, S.D. At Ellsworth AFB as jet engine mechanic. Then 7 years in the Reserves. He was on the Air Force Bowling Team. (He grew up sitting pins at the bowling alley and  was on the TV show Bowlin with Molin several times and won the K.C. City Tournament 1976 Doubles Champion and the Mo. State Doubles 1977 scratch).

He returned to K.C. working at Bendix Corp and then spent 30 years at TWA as machinist, mechanic, supervisor of the Landing Gear Shop and retired from Aircraft Engineering. He won the TWA Award of Excellence in 1990. He loved flying and had his private pilots license.  Bruce and his first wife Sandra had two sons, Doug & Chris. He married Connie in 1982 and they spent 35 wonderful years together.

They moved to The Villages in July 1999 where he golfed 4 times a week finally getting a hole in one in 2013. He loved playing golf , bowling, racquetball, baseball, snow skiing and country dancing. He was a member of the Swangers Square Dance Club in K.C. and Sheldon’s Village Stompers Clogging Show Team in The Villages. Bruce & Connie loved to travel all over the U.S., Europe, Israel, Egypt, Turkey, etc. Bruce was a member of the American Legion Post 347 in The Villages. He was a member of The First Baptist Church at The Villages and was baptized on his birthday Dec. 27, 2016.

Bruce was preceded in death by his parents; brother Gary W. Marx. Sr.; brother Ronald Keith Marx; and sister Theresa Ann Marx.  He is survived by his loving wife Connie  of the home; son Douglas Allen Marx and wife Karen of K.C., Mo.; son Christopher Eugene Marx of K.C., Mo.; 3 Granddaughters, Nicole Marie Marx, Felicia Kay Marx of K.C. and Leah Marie Marx Stafford and husband Paul of Leavenworth, KS.; brother, Roger Lee Marx and wife Melinda of K.C.; sister Dorothy Diann Francis of Blue Springs, Mo. and several nieces and nephews other relatives and many friends.

In lieu of  flowers, donations to Alzheimer’s Assoc., Cornerstone Hospice or the First Baptist Church Building Fund. Services will be Tuesday, July 25th at 10 a.m. at The First Baptist Church at The Villages.
