Bruce C. Lind

Bruce C. Lind, passed away peacefully at the age of 74 in his home in The Villages, Florida on Saturday, November 19, 2016, after a long battle with Rheumatoid Arthritis and interstitial lung disease.

As a young man he served in the United States Army for six years. Bruce retired as a locomotive engineer from Amtrak after 42 years of railroad service having worked at Penn Central, Conrail, Norfolk Southern and completing his last 10 years at Amtrak on the Northeast Corridor. He loved to collect HO3 narrow gauge railroad models and enjoyed attending antique car shows with his 53 Chevy.

Bruce was born in Wilmington, Delaware on January 10, 1942 to Norman G. Lind and Ruth C. Lind. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Gary N. Lind.

Bruce is survived by his wife Jill Lind; sons Erik Lind (Laurie) and Sean Lind (Cheryl); stepsons Brian Davis (Sharon) and Kris Davis (Lisa); sister Kathy Crew; grandchildren Kiera Lind, Stone Davis, Rex Davis and Zadie Davis; and two fur children Ziva and Gibbs who brought him comfort and joy every day.

A gathering of friends and family will be held on Friday, November 25, 2016 from 2-3 pm, with a celebration of life to follow at 3 pm, located at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 1511 Buenos Aires Blvd., The Villages, FL 32159.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America, www.iava.org.
