Can’t afford to give up coverage provided by former employer

To the Editor:

When I checked with Villages Health System to see how many patients were affected by their decision to force us out unless we signed up with United Healthcare I was advised that information is not available. Real transparency, ‘eh? My own Medicare supplemental insurance, provided by my former employer costs me absolutely NOTHING and that former employer contributes $10,164 on behalf of my wife and myself for our supplemental policy and prescription coverage. Who can afford to give that up?
