Carmendy Square Apartments resident jailed on DUI charge

A 56-year-old man residing in the Carmendy Square Apartments in Lady Lake was jailed over the weekend following his arrest on a charge of driving under the influence. William J. Myrick of 355 Sunny Oaks Way was being held on $1,500 bond at the Lake County Jail.

He had been clocked driving 68 miles per hour in a 45 mph zone, according to an arrest report from the Fruitland Park Police Department.

When he was pulled over, Myrick presented the officer with a New Hampshire driver’s license  which turned out to be suspended. He failed field sobriety exercises and later provided breath samples which registered .185 and .189 blood alcohol content.

In addition to DUI, he was arrested on a charge of driving while license suspended. He is due for arraignment April 15 in Lake County Court.
