Carol Jean Hoffmann, 85, of The Villages, FL, passed from this life Monday, May 2, 2016.
Born in Dover, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Amelia (Shields) Hopper. Carol was a 1948 graduate of Flemington High School. She was a chief operator for the New Jersey Telephone Co. in Flemington, NJ. After the children were grown Carol worked as a real estate representative for several years.
Carol was a loving and dedicated wife, mother and grandmother who loved to cook and collect and try new recipes. She and her husband moved to The Villages, Lady Lake, Florida from Flemington, NJ in 1987 where she enjoyed sailing with her husband. She was an accomplished clarinetist and played in The Villages Band. She spent much of her time researching family genealogy successfully connecting more than 800 years. Carol leaves her beloved husband of 64 years, Russell W. Hoffmann; sons, Russell W. Hoffmann, Jr., of Rosemont, NJ; Daryl Hoffmann of Lake City, FL; daughter, Beverly Baker of Leesburg, VA and seven grandchildren. Funeral Services are private following cremation. Burial will be in Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL
