In addition to their opponents, the second round leaders, and eventual champions, Cathleen Marquis and Rick Butler had tough conditions to cope with on Friday.  They had to fight strong winds, which were a steady 15-20 miles per hour with gusts over 25, fast greens, and tough pin placements.   Marquis padded her lead with a 2 under par 34 on her opening nine on Fort Walton, only to have difficulty starting the back nine on Pensacola.  After a couple of bad holes she said, “I had to kind of slap myself to get back on track.”

She did just that and posted a score of 75. Butler played as he did all three days, steady and consistent.   Butler opened with a 37 on his front nine of Destin, and finished with a 36 on Fort Walton.

Judy Stillman moved up to third gross with a new course record “71” on the Fort Walton to Pensacola rotation.

Final three round total scores:

Men

Rick Butler             216

Dan Zlotek              222

Dan Chiappetta       225

Women

Cathleen Marquis     224
