CDD supervisor says fence should go up at unofficial dog park at Glenview pond

A Community Development District 2 supervisor said a fence should go up at the unofficial dog park at a pond near the entrance to Glenview Country Club.

CDD 2 Supervisor Bart Zoellner pointed to the decision by the Amenity Authority Committee to put up a fence at another adhoc dog park behind The Villages Regional Hospital. The AAC had voted to put up a $17,000 fence at that location due to damage to grass being done by dog owners’ golf carts. The AAC has since decided to postpone that move.

Zoellner said the same situation exists at the pond at the intersection of Buena Vista Boulevard and El Camino Real near Savannah Center.

“You can see the bare spots. People are doing exactly the same thing. If we are going to fence one, let’s fence them both,” said Zoellner, who said he is not in favor of the fencing.

District Manager Janet Tutt said staff would look into the situation.
