MULBERRY WINS DOUBLEHEADER

ELIMINATES #1 SEED SYNERGY

ADVANCES TO THE SEMIFINALS

Mulberry had an easy time in a romp over IHOP in the play-in game, thus eliminating IHOP from the Playoffs. They got 3 hits each from Bill Yeager, John Hoover, Rod Severson(2 RBI’s), manager Ken Scanlon(2 RBI’s) and Tom Winegarden(3 RBI’s). They also got 2 hits from five other players. Larry Williams was the only IHOP player to manage more than one hit.

Mulberry continued their hot hitting and strong defense to eliminate #1 Seed and regular season champion Synergy. Tom Winegarden continued his hot hitting and led the victory with 3 hits and 4 RBI’s. He got help from John Hoover and Mac Macumbee who each had 3 hits while six other players had 2 hits each. Rich Hopkins led Synergy with 4 hits while Paul Justice had 3 hits and 2 RBI’s. Don Mulneix contributed with 2 hits and 2 RBI’s.

 

#6PAUL DAVIS RESTORATION 12  #3ARDEN 7

PRD outscored Arden 10-2 over the last 4 innings to pull the upset over Arden. Chick Cicatelli and Woody Wood(2 RBI’s) led the victory with 3 hits each. Pitcher Bob Fleming chipped in with 3 RBI’s while four other players had 2 hits apiece. Arden was led by manager Jim Allison’s 3 hits and 2 hits each from Bud Sheerin, Mark Hildebrand, Roger Duncan and Rich Pitts.

Babiarz scored 5 runs in the 6th inning for the come from behind upset over Perkins. The win was paced by manager John Wyks’ 3 hits and 2 more hits from each of Denis Hodge, Jim Glover, Tim Wilcox and Jack Nagle. Perkins was led by Jack Coit and John Reedy who each had 3 hits. They also got 2 hits from Tom Fulton, Lew Burhans and Bill Nesfield.

Jim Moyer led this victory with 3 hits and 3 RBI’s. Harlan also got 2 hits from Jim Creed, Chuck Bowman, Ed Moriarity and Sergio Carreras. In the loss, SRG was led by Mike Hyott and Bill Nisbet who each had 3 hits
