Harlan and Babiarz Open the Fall Season With Big Wins
BABIARZ 15 IHOP 5
Babairz pounded out 23 hits in a romp over IHOP, led by a 4 hit day from Ed Moriarity. They also got 3 each from Felix Rodrquez(3 RBI’s), Bob Kelly, Bill Thomas and Jeff Stein. Sub pitcher Gary Arnold IHOP to only one run until the 7th inning. IHOP was led by Tom Galloway, Sergio Carreras and Bob Strolin who each had 2 hits.
HARLAN 13 ARDEN 5
Harlan scored 10 runs in the last two innings to break up a close game with Arden’s and pull out the victory. The winners got 3 hits from Rick Stenson, Craig Dahlquist, Jim Wheeler(2 RBI’s) and Jim Rogers. Five other players have 2 hits each as Harlan totaled 24 hits for the day. Arden had 2 hits from four different players, Tim Carroll, Jerry Callahan, Don Mulneix and Jack Meagher(2 RBI’s).
3AMIGOS 7 PERKINS 2
3Amigos veteran pitcher Tom Gilewski held Perkins to only 2 runs while rookie manager Woody Wood and Dave Hinkley each had 2 hits to pace the offense. Perkins got 3 hits from George Lowe and 2 more from John Reedy in a losing cause.
PAUL DAVIS RESTORATION 9 HUMANA 6
Paul Davis outscored Humana five to one over the last 3 innings to secure the come from behind victory. Bob Buchanan and Al Dubuc led the victory with 3 hits each, while pitcher Jim Moyer, Bob Fowler and Andy Betanzos each chipped in with 2 hits. Humana was led by Dave Oatley and Tom Guinan who each had 3 hits.
MULBERRY 12 SYNERGY 8
Mulberry built an early 8 run lead and had to hold off a late charge from Synergy for the win. Manager Ken Scanlan, Ed Haith and Tom Winegarden each had 3 hits to led the winners. They also had 2 hits each from 6 other players. In the loss, Synergy got a 3 hit game from Paul Justice and manager Vern Brooks, while 5 other players had 2 hits each.
