Central Florida League Fall 2017 Highlights Week Five

Paul Davis Restorations continues its winning ways beating Synergy Wealth 8-1.

Jim Wiegand and John Barracato had three hits each to lead Paul Davis. Adding a pair of hits were: Chick Cicatelli, Mike Jeffries, Mark Isom, Conrad Strassle, Jeff Bekasi, and Bob Kelly. Synergy scored its lone run in the bottom of the seventh as Jim Gordon scored on a double by George Kennedy, who led Synergy with three hits. Adding a pair of hits were: Ed Shirk and Paul Robinson.

Gators Brownwood gets its first win by a mercy 21-6 win over the Firecrackers.

Jim Morton and David Blandford led the Gator attack with four hits each. Chipping in three hits were: Jim Lambert, Tony Prettitore, Charlie Clare, and Neil Marple. The Firecracker got three hits by lead off batter, Manny Sanchez. Adding a pair of hits were Don Brozick and John Wyks.

Softball’s R Game came from behind to overtake Humana 17-16.

SRG was led by the four hits of Ray Bedford. Adding three hits were: Scott Marshall and Mike Hyott. The walk off hit came as manager, Jack Marx, beat out a fielder’s choice with the bases loaded. Humana had four hits by Bill Nisbet and three each by Tom McGann, Dave Oatley, and Gary Lewis.

Palm Ridge Dental held off Arden Jewelers 13-12.

Ed DeMaio led Palm RIdge with four hits and manager, Ken Scanlon had three. Chipping in a pair of hits were: Gary Nicolay, John Goulet, Gary Luck, John VanArnhem, Bob Nyce, and sub, Neil Marple.  Arden got three hits from Jim White, Paul Isenberg, and Don Mulneix. Adding a pair of hits were: Bill Reed, Mark Hildebrand, Al Mahar, Jack Nagle, Pete Davidson, and Tom Bortle.

FBC Mortgage came from behind to best Fross & Fross 12-11.

Down 11-7 going into the bottom of the sixth inning FBC scored the maximum allowed 5 runs and held on for the win. Tim Wilcox had three hits to lead FBC. Adding a pair of hits were: Rocky Spottswood, Howard Charney, Marty Berger, Ed Joseph, Peter Daub, and Phil Palma. Fross & Fross got four hits from Alan Zahm and two hits from: Ron Riowe, John Gouin, George Loew, John Kushner, Al DuBuc, Duane Miller, Jim Wheeler, and manager, Al Deibler.

IHOP got back on the winning track by defeating Babiarz Law 17-5.

Leading IHOP with three hits apiece were: Bob Jacques, Gary Roth, and John Charles. Smacking two hits each were: Maury Fjestad, Randy Bowen, Rich Bergman, Randy Godbold, Ron Goldman, and sub, Chris Iorio. Babiarz Law got two hits from: Carl McWilliams, Jim Crabtree, John Plunkard, and sub, Jim Gordon.
