Central Florida League Fall 2017 Highlights Week Four

And then there was one. At the end of week four only one team remained undefeated in the Central Florida League.

Paul Davis Restorations took over sole possession of first place by defeating Gators Brownwood 8-1.

Paul Davis was led by the three hits of Bob Buchanan, while Mike Jeffries, John Barracato, and Mark Isom chipped in with two more. Gators scored their only run of the game on a double by David Blandford that drove in Ken Atkinson. Dennis Nero was the only Gator who had more than one hit, as pitcher Jim Moyer allowed them only seven hits.

Previously unbeaten FBC Mortgage fell to Babiarz Law 9-6.

Ken Link and Dennis Bauch stroked three hits each to lead Babiarz. Tom Brock, Bob Winder, Jim Crabtree, and Carlos Lopez added two hits apiece for the winners. FBC Mortgage got three hits from lead off batter, Rocky Spottswood, and team manager and pitcher, Jim Joseph. Adding a pair of hits were: Howard Charney, Marty Berger, and John Leone.

Palm Ridge Dental bested Fross & Fross 6-5.

The Dental team got a pair of hits from Ed DeMaio, Ed Haith, Bruce Harlan, and Bob Nyce. Gary Nicolay added a two run homer and sub, Chris Iorio, had a triple for the winners. Fross & Fross got a pair of hits by Jim Wheeler and Ron Rowe.

Arden Jewelers held on to defeat Synergy Wealth 12-9.

Mark Hildebrand and Jim White had four hits for Ardens; and, Bill Reed three. Adding a pair of hits for the winners were: Rod Severson, John Ashby, Paul Isenberg, Al Mahar, and Jack Nagle. Synergy got three hits from Jim Rogers while Rick Duemler, Dale Neff, Rick Fredieu, Jim Gordon, and Vernon Brooks added a pair each. John Reedy drove in two runs with a triple.

Softball’s R Game easily defeated the Firecrackers 19-9.

Pitcher Ed Krisha, Mike Hyott, and Paul Schaffer smacked four hits each for the winners. Scott Marshall added three hits. Adding a pair of hits were: Jim Stencil, Ray Bedford, Pat Rice, Don Evans, Bob Holbert, and Mike Bernbach. The Firecrackers were led by the four hits from Chuck Alexander. Don Brozick and Paul Justice had three hits each in the loss.

Humana doubled up IHOP 10-5.

Humana had three hits by Bill Nisbet and Ed Chirumbolo while Tom McGann and Dave Oatley had two each. IHOP’s Ron Goldman had three hits to lead his team and Gary Coleman two. Rich Bergman smacked a solo homer to open the third inning.
