Central Florida League fall highlights week five

And then there was one.

Paul Davis stayed in first place alone after previously unbeated Arden Jewelers fell to Humana 18-16.

Humana was led by Jim Kitzler, who had five hits and drove in three runs from the lead off spot. Tim Healey and sub pitcher, Tom Gilewski, had four hits, while Chuck Bowman and Mark Goodwin had three hits each and drove in three runs apiece. Arden’s Pat Perkins, John Plunkard, and Gary Arnold all had three hits. Al Mahar and Rod Severson had two hits each and drove in three runs apiece.

Paul Davis Restorations defeated Palm Ridge Dental 10-7.

Bill Nesbit led Paul Davis with three hits and two rbi’s. Bob Kelly, Jeff Bekasi, Jim Harrison, Jack Meagher, and Gary DePalma all chipped in two hits for the winners. Palm Ridge had two hits each from: Ed Haith, Ed DeMaio, Gary Nicolay, George Leow, Ray Bedford, and Bobby Green.

IHOP held Fross & Fross scoreless over the last four innings to come away with an 11-5 win.

Manny Sanchez led IHOP with four hits, while Jim Lambert and Wayne Mallory had three each. Adding two hits for the winners were: Gary Roth, Rich Bergman, Mark Rich, Paul Schaefffer, and Mike Hyott. Fross & Fross had two hits by Ron Rowe, John Buchanan, Jim Wheeler, and Dave Pope.

Softball’s R Game won its first game of the season besting Buffalo Crossings 15-11.

SRG got four hits from Scott Marshall and Ed Krisha added three. Jim Stencil, Vince Pezzullo, Bob Holbert, Roy Warter, Al DuBuc, and Jim Rogers had two hits in the win. Buffalo Crossings was led by Phil Palma and Tom Aldridge, who each had three hits. Randy Bowen, Jim Wiegand, Larry Harshaw, and Gary Lewis had two hits apiece in the losing cause.

Babiarz Law bounced back from its loss last week with a 15-8 win over Harlan Insurance.

Terry Yanny led the victors with four hits. Contributing two each for the winners were: Ed Moriarity, Chuck Mays, Ev Rhyner, Bud Ramsey, Don Evans, and John Charles. Harlan’s Tom Ceglie had three hits as did sponsor Bruce Harlan. Jim Fetela, Bob, Juhasz, Doug St.Andrews, and Charles Clare stroked two hits each in the loss.
