Central Florida League Week 7 Winter ‘17 Highlights

The race for first place in the Central Florida League got tighter as a result of week seven games.

Palm Ridge Dental falls to Arden Jewelers in extra innings 13-12

Palm Ridge had the early lead; but, Arden scored a run in the bottom of the seventh to take the game into extra innings. Palm Ridge put three runs across in the top; but, couldn’t hold as John Ashby stroked a single to drive in the winning run. Palm Ridge was led by Pat Perkins with four hits and Gary Nicolay’s three. Arden’s hot bats were: Bill Reed, Gene Guerriero, and John Meindl, who all had three hits.

Softball’s R Game got into the race with another win, defeating Humana 20-8.  SRG got four hits each from Jim Stencil, Dick Smith, Paul Isenberg and sub, Neal Marple.  Jerry Jensen drove in three runs with a pair of singles and pitcher, Ed Krisha, drove in three with three singles.  Humana’s Duane Broschat led his team with four hits, while Bob Nizlek and Dave Oatley had three hits in the loss.

Buffalo Crossing returns to the win column defeating CFL CarePlus 15-11

Buffalo Crossing got four hits from Peter Davidson and Jim Wiegand, who drove in five runs with a double and a three run homer.  Howard Charney had three singles and drove in two runs.  CFL CarePlus was led by Ray Bedford’s four hits and Don Brozick’s three.  Dennis Bauch and Tom Bortle drove in two runs each with two hits a piece.

Synergy Wealth mercied Fross & Fross in six innings 16-1

Synergy’s Rick Duemler had three hits with two solo homers to lead his team.  Roy Warter also had a homer and two singles.  Conrad Strassle and Dick Adams drove in three runs with their three hit days.  Fross & Fross got their lone run in the top of the sixth when Randy Bowen led off with a triple and scored on a single by Paul Justice.  Bowen, Dave Pope and manager, Al Deibler each got two hits.

IHOP continues to win defeating FBC Mortgage 10-8

Tom Bent had three hits, while Bobby DePace, Rich Bergman, John Hoover, John Wyks, and manager, Jack Nesci, all had two hits. FBC’s first two batters, John Barracato and Rocky Spottswood, had three hits. Spottswood had a solo homer in the second.  Dan MacPherson and Phil Palma added two hits each in the losing cause.

Harlan Insurance comes from behind to score three runs in the bottom of the seventh to overtake Babiarz Law 9-8

itcher, Bruce Harlan, led his team with three hits.  Adding two apiece were:  Charles Clare, Jim Morton, David Blandford,  and, Chuck Bowman.  Ed Moriarity led Babiarz with three hits.  Ken Link and Don Evans had two hits each in the loss.  Front runner Paul Davis Restorations had the bye and provided score keepers.
