Central Florida League Winter highlights week six

Valentine’s day saw the previously unbeaten teams lose during week six Central Florida League action.

Synergy Wealth beat Palm Ridge Dental 17-9.

Rick Duemler, Rick Fredieu, Vernon Brooks, and Vince Pezzullo each had three hits to pace Synergy. After tying the score at 5 each in the first, Palm Ridge could only plate four more runs. Ed Haith, Gary Nicolay, Ed DeMaio, Mike Jeffries, Gary Luck, Dana Lambillotte and Bobby Green all had two hits in the loss.

CFL CarePlus handed the other unbeaten, Paul Davis Restorations, it’s first loss 16-8.

Ray Bedford led CarePlus with four hits. Adding three hits were: Don Brozick and Tom Brock. Paul Davis got a pair of hits from Bob Kelly, Chick Cicatelli, Bill Nesbit, Gary Lewis, Paul Schaffer, and manager, Jeff Bekasi.

Harlan Insurance outscored Buffalo Crossing 9-5.

Bud Ramsey and manager, Sante Tulli, led Harlan with three hits each. Chipping in with two hits were: David Blandford and Chuck Bowman. Buffalo Crossing manager, John Leone, led his team with three hits. With two hits each were: Bob Holbert, Doug St.Andrews, Gerry Street, and Jim Wiegand.

IHOP came from behind to defeat Humana 7-6.

Wayne Mallory drove in the winning run with a single in the bottom of the seventh. Mallory and Tom Bent led IHOP with three hits, while: David Hinkley, Ron Goldman, Jim Lambert, and Jim Fetela all had two hits. Humana got three hits from Duane Broschat and Steve Barton, with Jim Kitzler adding a pair of hits.

FBC Mortgage scored a run in the top of the seventh to take the lead from Babiarz and held them to only one run in the bottom for the win 10-9.

John Barracto led FBC with four hits. Carl McWilliams had three hits and Rocky Spottswood, Rick Murgittroyd, Jim Joseph, Ed Konopka, Dan MacPherson, and Ron Parson all had two hits. MacPherson had a two run homer in the second. Babiarz got four hits from Ken Link and three from John Charles. Mark Goodwin led off the bottom of the sixth with a solo homer.

Softball’s R Game had to go to the bottom of the eighth inning to overcome Arden Jewelers 10-9.

Dick Smith led off the bottom of the extra inning with a triple. Arden intentionally walked the next two batters to put a force at any base. Batter, Ed Krisha, hit a sacrifice fly to drive in the winning run. Jim Stencil and sub, Paul Hein had three hits for SRG. Hein had a solo homer to open the sixth for SRG. Adding two hits in the win were: Jim Ritchie, Scott Marshall, Jerry Jensen, Paul Isenberg, and manager, Jack Marx. Arden’s big stick was lead off batter Bill Reed. Reed had the first over the fence homer of the season in the third, a triple, and an inside the park homer in the fifth to drive in 5 of Arden’s runs. Tom Farrell, Gene Guerriero, Mike DiMaio, and Dan Kincaid had a pair of hits. Kincaid had a double and a triple.
