A come from behind win for Buffalo Crossing pulled out a 12-11 win over Fross & Fross.
Bill Begley drove in the winning run with a single to cap a 5 run bottom of the seventh rally. Buffalo Crossing was led by Tom Winegarden, who went 4 for 4 with 2 runs driven in. Sub, Gary Coleman had 3 hits and 2 rbi’s and Begley also had 3 hits. BIll Reed’s only hit of the day was a 2 run homer. Fross & Fross got 3 hits from lead off batter Pat Perkins, while Don Mulneix, Jim Morton, Mike Hyott, and Rod Severson all had 2 hits in the loss.
The other early game featured a rematch between league leading Softball’s R Game and Mulberry Integrative Medicine and SRG came out on top again with a 13-9 win.
Mulberrys’ offense didn’t wake up until the 6th inning. SRG’s Jim Stencil was perfect at the plate with 3 hits and 3 rbi’s. Rick Duemler, Al Mahar, Bob Buchanan, Dan Kincaid, Ray Bedford, Bill Nisbet, Jim Harrison, Jack Marx and pitcher, Ed Krisha all had 2 hits. Mulberry was led by Bob Roth’s 3 hits, while Bill DiCarlo, R.J. Jackson, Chuck Bowman and Mike Labetti all had 2 hits.
Babiarz Law built up an 18 to 7 lead thru 6 innings and held on for the win 18-15 over Synergy as the teams flip-flopped in the 6th.
Babiarz got 4 hits and 4 rbi’s from Jim Creed and sub Rick Poland had 3 hits and a sac fly to drive in 3 runs. Jeff Bekasi, Paul Justice, and Bill Naasz also had 3 hits for the winners. Don Melcher drove in 4 runs with a pair of hits and George Kennedy’s 2 hits accounted for 2 more rbi’s. Synergy Wealth scored 8 runs in the 7th to close the gap; but, came up short. Synergy was led by Vinny Pezzullo, who went 4 for 4. Dave Williams, Ed DeMaio, and Al DuBuc had 3 hits each. Sub Bob Kelly’s lone hit for the day was a triple that drove in the last 3 runs for Synergy.
Harlan Insurance won it’s rematch with IHOP 16-10.
Harlan got 3 hits each from: Charles Clare, Bob Whiteley, Joe DeGeorge, Bruce Harlan, and Mark Schiffhauer. Mark’s last hit was a 3 run homer in the 6th inning. Dave Pope led the team with 4 hits on the day. IHOP pitcher, Jim Glover, led the team with 3 hits. Ken Atkinson, Chick Cicatelli, Jack Meagher, Art Anton, Wendy Hartfiel, Tom Guinan, and Ron Goldman had 2 hits each in the loss.
The Central Florida League will be off next Tuesday due to the 4th of July and sign-ups for the Fall 2016 season will start on July 12th when the league resumes play.
