CFL summer highlights week three

At the end of Tuesday’s games only one team remained undefeated and one winless.

Previously winless Harlan Insurance defeated Synergy Wealth 14-9.

Charles Clare, Fred Hughes and Bob Whiteley led the Harlan offense with 3 hits each. Harlan pitcher, Fred Hughes, drove in 4 runs. Both Mark Schiffhauer and Jim Fellabaum drove in 2 runs with singles. Synergy got a pair of hits from: Jack Coit, Vinny Pezzullo, John Reedy, manager Vernon Brooks, and Jim Moyer. Sub Ed Konopka had a 3 run homer in the 4th inning.

Fross & Fross won their first game of the season besting IHOP 23-15.

IHOP had the lead 14-12 going into the last inning. Fross & Fross sent 17 batters to the plate and scored 11 runs to take the lead. IHOP only managed to score one run in the bottom of the seventh. IHOP got 4 hits from Chick Cicatelli and 3 from Jack Meagher. Ken Atkinson was perfect with 2 hits and 2 sacrifice flies. Dave Oatley, Jim Glover, Tom Guinan, Wendy Hartfiel, Art Anton, and Craig Dahlquist all stroked 2 hits each. Dahlquist had a 2 run homer in the 5th. Fross & Fross got 4 hits from Jack Nagle, while Jim Morton, Bob Marano, and Al Deibler all had 3hits. Subs Ken Link and Dick Stieglitz each homered for Fross.

In a battle of unbeaten teams Softball’s R Game came out on top of Babiarz Law 8-6.

Babiarz had 2 hits each from: Ed Moriarity, Jim Creed, Bob Green, Tom Aldridge, and Jeff Bekasi. Softball’s R Game had 2 hits apiece by: Ray Bedford, Bob Buchanan, Al Mahar, Dan Kincaid, and pitcher, Ed Krisha.

Mulberry Integrative Medicine scored in every inning to build a 14 run lead going into the bottom of the last inning and defeated Buffalo Crossing 18-6.

Mulberry was led by Bill DiCarlo and Dick Adams with 4 hits each. R.J. Jackson, Chuck Bowman, and Mike Labetti all had 3 hits. Buffalo Crossing had back to back homers in the 6th inning as Bill Reed hit a 2 run shot and Tom Winegarden followed with a solo homer. Manager, John Leone had 3 hits on the day.
