Charles E. Croom, Jr., 73, The Villages, FL, passed away on Sunday, February 7, 2016 at the Villages Regional Hospital. He was born September 5, 1942 in Wilmington, NC. He was working as the outside manager of Orange Blossom Country Club in The Villages at the time of his death. He and his wife Bridgette moved to The Villages in 2007. Prior to coming to The Villages, he worked 30 years in sales and sales management. As an Account Manager he sold the largest outsource contract in the company for 32.0 million in 2005. As an Account Manager he sold and managed service contracts for 25.8 million in 2006. He obtained number one in both sales and all levels of management from branch manager to operations director.

He is survived by his loving wife Bridgette, sons James, John and Chuck Croom; Troy and Jimmy Drury; Kevin Nobles; his mother Dorothy Croom; sisters Lynn Aycock and Sandy Whitesell; 10 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. He also leaves behind his extended family at Orange Blossom Country Club. They were more than coworkers to him, they were family.

To celebrate his life, a Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2016 at 1 p.m. at Beyers Funeral Home Chapel, 134 N. Highway 27/441, Lady Lake, FL.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000 Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38101-9908.
