Charles L. Montross, 81, Deep River, Iowa and seasonal resident of Leesburg, Florida, passed away on December 21st, 2016 at Waterman Hospital, Taveres, Florida. Charles was born on September 8th, 1935 on the family farm outside of Millersburg, Iowa to Hubert and Blanche (Gerard) Montross. Charles was a farmer and owner of Montross Bin Company and Iowa County Supervisor. He was well known for his love of meeting and talking with everyone and about everything. Charlie loved to be surrounded by his family, especially his grandchildren. Charlie is survived by his loving wife of 57 year, Mary Ellen, Deep River, IA, daughters Carolyn (John) Frazier, Vinton, IA, Dianne (Mike) Horn, Marshalltown, IA and son David (Lea) Montross, Williamsburg, IA, brother James (Gloria) Montross, Jeanette Bender, both of Texas and a sister Phyllis Gorsch, Millersburg, seven grandchildren, Alex Frazier, Elizabeth Menurey, Stephanie and Samantha Horn, Katelyn, Wyatt and Mackenzie Montross and a great-grandson, Michael Horn. Charles was preceded in death by his parents, a son, John Charles, his sister Linda Slotwinski and a brother Keith. Services will be held in Iowa at a later date.
