Charles Leroy Roberts

Charles Leroy Roberts, 97, of Fruitland Park, Florida, passed away on Tuesday, August 15, 2017, peacefully in his home in the presence of his wife, Celia, and homecare assistant, Alonzo Reed. Charles was born on May 30th, 1920, to Myrtle and Arthur Roberts in Hickory Plaines, Arkansas.

Charles was a proud Veteran of WWII serving in the US Army as an AntiAircraft Artillery Gun Crewman. He served overseas 17 months as an AAA Cannoner.

Afterwards he worked for Universal Die Casting, Inc, in Saline, Michigan, in the Tool & Die Division for 31 years.

Charles enjoyed fishing, reading his Bible, gardening, and spending quality time with his beautiful wife, Celia, taking walks around the neighborhood visiting with friends & neighbors, shopping, traveling to spend time with family and eating out!

He is survived by his loving wife, Celia, and his baby sister, Lois Wonderly of Lyons, Ohio; daughters Rachel (Ed) Feuerbacher and Bonnie (Ron) Weisenreder, both of Saline, Michigan; his son Lavon (Jane) Roberts of Clinton, Michigan; stepdaughters Betty Renée (Bob) Walker of Flagler Beach, Florida, and Debbie (Bob) Boehringer of Stamford, Connecticut; 6 Grandchildren; 9 Great Grandchildren; 5 Step Grandchildren; 5 Step Great Grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Mildred and 5 sisters and brothers.

A gravesite service will be held at the National Cemetery, 6502 SW 102nd Ave, Bushnell, Florida. Date to be announced.
