Charles R. Brummitt, Sr., 70, born and raised in Tennessee, moved to The Villages, FL in 2006, passed away July 4, 2017 after a heroic, hard fought battle with cancer. Charles, (Charlie to some) was born June 3, 1947 in Nashville, TN to Arthur O. Brummitt, Sr. and Eva M. Brummitt.

He was a loving husband of almost 45 years to his wife & soul mate, Jennifer W. Brummitt and a supportive father to his two sons, Joseph Donald Baker, Jr. (wife Jeanna) Gladeville, TN and Charles R. Brummitt, Jr (wife Shannon) Gordonsville, TN. He is also survived by his brother, Arthur O. Brummitt, Jr (wife Janet) and sister, Kathy M. Bailey, both of TN, also 8 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

His most recent employment was Community Watch as a Gate Attendant, last assigned to Morse South Gate. The majority of Charles’ working career was as a long distance truck driver for 30+ years, working for HD Lee and Dallas and Mavis Transportation in Nashville, TN. Charles was a diehard Dallas Cowboys fan and University of Tennessee Volunteers fan.

He never in his whole life met a stranger, loved to talk, always joked that he would make a good Walmart greeter. Two names we called him which were most fitting, a gentle giant and the Energizer Bunny. He will be missed by many!

In lieu of flowers you can make a donation in Charles’ name to the American Cancer Society.
