Charles W. ‘Charlie’ Gilmour

Charles W. “Charlie” Gilmour, Jr, age 93, of Summerfield, FL, passed away on Thursday, February 23, 2017. He was born in Union Hill, NJ on July 10, 1923. Charlie enlisted in the US Navy and served during WWII as a Chief Gunners Mate. After his military service he returned to New Jersey and worked as a Plaster Tradesman. Then he became a Police Officer for Piscataway Township where he retired as a Captain after 20 years of service. Charlie was a parishioner of St Theresa Catholic Church in Belleview. He was an avid stamp collector, enjoyed gardening and fishing.

He is survived by his wife of 69 years Mary L. Gilmour; son Richard (Lorraine) Gilmour; daughters Jacquelyn Gehrsitz and Mary-Lorraine (Brian) Yetter; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by 3 sons Chuck, Thomas and James Gilmour.

Mass of Christian Burial Service will be held at St Theresa Catholic Church on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at 10 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
