A K-9 brought to an end in Sumter County a multi-agency chase of a man behind the wheel of a stolen vehicle.

The suspect, Cody Zeuner, 22, of Clermont, was being held at the Sumter County Detention Center on Wednesday night following his capture.

The chase began at 9:30 a.m. in Columbia County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. The chase led to Marion County were Zeuner attempted to strike FHP vehicles. The Marion County Sheriff’s Office joined in the chase and provided air support.

Zeuner went to an unidentified home in Sumter County and attempted to steal another vehicle. He was unable to do so and fled on foot. Law enforcement units from Sumter County, Marion County and FHP set up a perimeter and a K-9 helped take Zeuner into custody. He suffered a dog bite in the process.

The 2015 Chevy Silverado that Zeuner had been driving is believed to have been stolen from a dealership in Clermont.
