The children of Villager Margaret “Peggy” Klemm, the woman at the center of the “Sex on the Square” incident, are appealing to the public for help with her legal defense.
Klemm is currently being held without bond at the Sumter County Detention Center on a probation violation.

Klemm’s oldest son, Steven, is leading the effort from his home in Pennsylvania.
“As a child, this is a position you never expect to find yourself in with your parents,” he said.
He admitted he spent some time being angry at his mother, but knew he had to “get over it” and find a way to help his parents.
With his mother in jail, he is equally worried about his father, a cancer survivor with one leg.
He said his father has already racked up $20,000 in credit card charges since this ordeal began.
Klemm was originally arrested in April on a driving under the influence charge. At the time, she had been operating a golf cart in Lake Sumter Landing. That charge was reduced to reckless driving and on May 30 she was placed on probation. Three days later, she and a Summerfield man were arrested by a Sumter County sheriff’s deputy while they were on stage at Lake Sumter Landing, allegedly unclothed and having sex. Initially, she made bond, but later surrendered herself on the probation violation.
Her previous attorney had said the state’s offer was one year in jail. Klemm is now being represented by attorney Allan Kaye.
Steven Klemm said he and his three siblings are determined to get their mother the help she needs.
After sorting through the legal case, Steven Klemm said it is likely is mother will be in some type of alcohol rehabilitation.
