Citizens Avenida Central drive-up scheduled to shut down on May 1

The Citizens First Bank drive-up facility at Avenida Central will close on May 1.

Citizens First Bank President and CEO Steve Kurtz has sent a letter to customers informing them of the closure.

In the letter, Kurtz informs customers that a new drive-through facility located behind the Citizens First Bank on Main Street in Spanish Springs Town Square should open this fall.

A scaled-down plan for the new drive-through was approved in March by the Lady Lake Commission. Mayor Ruth Kussard voted against the plan, citing concerns from residents who said they did not want it.

The lobby closed in 2013.

Kurtz is recommending that Citizens First Bank customers after May 1, use the Main Street facility which is located a half mile from the Avenida Central facility or the Spanish Plaines branch which is one and a half miles from the Avenida Central facility.

A golf cart repair center will be constructed at the Avenida Central location.
