Community Development District 2 makes decision on anonymous complaints

The Community Development District 2 Board of Supervisors has decided to stick with the anonymous complaint system when it comes to reporting deed restriction violations.

Supervisor Bryan Lifsey had written a position paper on the topic in advance of Friday morning’s board. He concluded that the system works for the majority of residents.

However, one supervisor said he has been harassed via the anonymous complaint system.

Bart Zoellner said he has a motorhome and someone has repeatedly falsely reported him as being in violation of the 72-hour rule.

“I think we need to make some modifications,” Zoellner said.

He said in the instances he was reported as overstaying his allotted time, he had proof that his motorhome had been elsewhere.

He said that if the accuser had to provide a name, that individual might not pick up the phone.

In the end, the consensus of the board was to stick with the anonymous system.
