Charlie Cook was honored Friday morning for his 12 years of service on the Community Development District 3 Board of Supervisors.

Cook opted not to run for another term and his last official meeting was in October.

“It went awfully fast, but I certainly did enjoy it,” the resident of the Village of Polo Ridge said of his dozen years on the CDD 3 board.

CDD 3 Vice Chairman Gail Lazenby paid tribute to Cook’s service and presented him with a clock on behalf of the District and his fellow board members.

He saluted Cook’s years of service and mentioned that they had not always agreed on every item.

“We may have disagreed, but we were never disagreeable,” Lazenby said, noting that is something missing in today’s political environment.
