Community Improvement Council to offer safety flashers at Spanish Springs Market Night

The Community Improvement Council will have safety flashers at Spanish Springs Market Night on Monday from 4:40 to 8 p.m.

Safety flashers make people who walk in the dark more visible to cars and golf carts. The flashers can also be attached to a dog’s leash or collar, or to a bicycle.

The CIC asks for a $5 donation for each flasher and lanyard. Some of the money is used to purchase new flashers and lanyards, and $2 is put in the fund for other projects. The CIC is currently purchasing a wheelchair for each of The Villages Recreation Centers.

The CIC has put a wheelchair in each of the 10 regional recreation centers, and are putting them in the other centers as funds allow. They have also donated a wheelchair to the Villages Public Safety Department for each town square.

The Community Improvement Council has Resident Suggestion Forms at each postal station and Regional Recreation Center, where residents can turn in suggestions for improving The Villages Lifestyle. The forms may also be used to inform of any maintenance item that needs to be performed or any problem that needs to be brought to the attention of any Villages District department, and the CIC will notify the proper department that there is a problem, and attempt to find a solution.
