Couple arrested after fight breaks out when one of them tries to leave home

A Fruitland Park couple found themselves behind bars after a fight broke out when one of them tried to leave home.

Krystal Michelle Massa, 38, arrived home at 35401 Willow Circle in Fruitland on Tuesday afternoon and discovered Jason Scott Horowitz was packing to leave, according to an arrest report from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office. Massa claimed Horowitz asked for a phone charger and remaining clothes and then hit her in the side of the head when he tried to take a cell phone out of her hand. Horowitz tried to leave with her cell phone and Massa then jumped on the windshield of Horowitz’s car, crushing the windshield into the car.

Horowitz was arrested on charges of simple battery and grand theft. Massa was arrested on charges of simple battery and criminal mischief.

Both were booked at the Lake County Jail.
