Crystal River teen struck and killed by automobile

A Crystal River 18-year-old died after being struck by a car Monday night on County Road 488 in Citrus County.

Caleb Nichols had been pushing a shopping cart in the westbound lane of CR 488 at 9:36 p.m. Monday when he was struck and killed by a 2009 Nissan Altima driven by 69-year-old Raymond Twedwil of Spring Hill, according to an accident report from the Florida Highway Patrol.

Nichols died at the scene of the accident.
