Darleen Alice Krust, 80, of Leesburg, Florida, passed away Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at Ocala Regional Medical Center after a brief illness. She was born in Pentwater, Michigan on May 8, 1936 to Royce and Nerine Blount. She moved to Orlando, Florida in 1964 with her husband Jim Schaner and their children; Jim died in 1988. She worked as an accounting clerk at UCF for many years after her children were grown.

Darleen moved to Leesburg in 2002 when she and Don Krust were married. She enjoyed shopping, rescuing cocker spaniels, and spending time with family.

She is survived by her husband Don Krust; daughter Vicki (David) Lane and their children Shelby, Charles, and Benjamin; son Michael (Judy) Schaner and their daughter Amber; daughter Shirley Jones and her children Henry and Luke; son George Schaner; and grandchildren James, Heather, Christopher, Caleb, and Samantha by her daughter Susan Alday, who predeceased her. Darleen had 8 great-grandchildren. She was also predeceased by her parents, Brother Pete, and most recently, her beloved cocker spaniel Molly.

Her family will hold a private celebration of her life at a later date.
