Dashiell ‘Gibby’ Gibson

Dashiell “Gibby” Gibson, 83, of Water Oak in Lady Lake, FL, passed away peacefully on October 22, 2017 surrounded by his loving family.
Gibby was born in Gary, IN and attended local schools, son of Alfred and Hazel (Gallien) Gibson.

He served his country in the United States Air Force, responsible for aircraft maintenance. He was an engineer for AT&T and BellSouth for more than 27 years. He moved to Lady Lake in 1995. Gibby loved a round of golf and was proud of his two holes-in-one. He enjoyed gardening and landscaping. Gibby returned from a visit to Hawaii with pineapple that he planted and was currently nurturing over 20 plants. He loved world travel and visited destinations worldwide, from Australia to Europe. Gibby was an avid tinkerer and could often be found in his woodworking shop.

Gibby is survived by a son Mark E. Gibson of Cocoa, FL, a daughter Adele D. Richardson of Winter Park, FL and three grandchildren. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 54 years, Geraldine, as well as a brother and sister.

A Celebration of his life will be held on Thursday, October 26th 2017 at 11 a.m. at the Beyers Funeral Home in Lady Lake, FL. A visitation for family and friends will be at 10:30 a.m.
