David S. Griffin

David S. Griffin, 86, Leesburg, Florida, went to be with the Lord on May 5, 2016 at his residence under the loving care of his family and staff of Cornerstone Hospice. Mr. Griffin was born on October 26, 1929 in Ashford, Alabama to his parents John E. Griffin and Trudie (Moody) Griffin. Mr. Griffin had worked as a Maintenence Foreman at Bonfire Mobile Home Village in Lisbon, Florida. He and his wife moved to Leesburg in 1968 from Ashford, Alabama. He was a proud veteran of the Korean War who served in the U.S. Army. He was a hard worker, feisty, extremely helpful to those in need, a great outdoorsman and was an excellent farmer. He enjoyed gardening, watching birds, fishing and being outdoors and enjoying life. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years: Sara Griffin of Leesburg, FL; children: Jannie (Paul) Riley, Danny Nathan Griffin, Lisa (Richard) Rojas all of Leesburg, FL; four grandchildren: Brad, Katie, Brooke and Cody; two great-grandchildren: Parker and Abigale and many, many loving nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, May 15, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Page-Theus Funeral Home Chapel, Leesburg, Florida. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to Cornerstone Hospice in David’s loving memory.
