Dennis David Dalenberg age 73, passed away at his residence Tuesday, September 10, 2014 in Leesburg, Florida. Dennis was born to Jack & Jullane (Kubeck) Dalenberg on February 9th 1941 in Niles, Michigan. Dennis and his wife Sandy, began spending the winters in Leesburg, in 2009, to escape the winter cold and snow of Niles. He proudly served his country in both the U. S. Marine Corps and the U. S. Navy, where he served until retirement. After retiring from the military; he served as a Correctional Officer with the Cass County Sherriff’s Department and retired (again and for good) in 2007. Dennis enjoyed cooking and baking; as well as collecting stamps, coins, and antique bottles. He loved to read, listen to music, and watch old movies. He was a life-long football fan of the Chicago Bears and Notre Dame, and was happiest on a Harley Davidson Motorcycle. Dennis rode motorcycles for almost 60 years: including numerous “Iron Butt” rides and a trip from Michigan to Alaska and back! He leaves behind to carry on his memory a loving wife of 52 years – Sandra (McCombs) Dalenberg; Sons – John (Neva) Turnock of Washington and Sean Dalenberg of Maryland; Daughter – Robin (Ron) Dalenberg of Michigan; Granddaughter Amber Turnock of Washington; Brother – Jerry (Ginger) Dalenberg of Michigan; and Sister – Diane (Denny) Hill, of Michigan. The celebration of his life is planned for 2:00 p. m., September 17, 2014 at the Page-Theus Funeral Home, Downtown Leesburg, Florida. A future gathering in Michigan for friends and family will be planned at a later date.
