Distracted driver crashes into building in center of roundabout

A distracted driver crashed her vehicle into a building in the center of a roundabout Monday afternoon.

The woman had been southbound at 3:18 p.m. on Buena Vista Boulevard at Tall Trees Lane near the entrance to the Village of Tall Trees. She got distracted, the vehicle went up over the curb and crashed into the building, according to the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.

The woman, who escaped injury, was ticketed on a charge of careless driving.

The Villages Public Safety Department and Community Watch also responded to the scene of the accident.
