District announces effort to lower levels in some water retention areas

To ensure adequate capacity of the storm water management system throughout the community, the District will be lowering certain water retention areas that are above recommended levels.  The water level is being lowered to ensure there is sufficient capacity in the water retention area to capture water run-off from streets, yards and golf courses in preparation of future rain events.
On Wednesday, the District began lowering the level of the water retention area located behind Freedom Pointe, along Morse Boulevard (Basin 14-1).

This will be accomplished by irrigating the Duke Power Corridor area inside the De La Vista Golf Course.

The District Office said that water being utilized though the irrigation system is storm-water resulting from rain events.
