Again the Celtics were in a contest with a team just behind us in the standings, and again the Celts came up with another big win. Excellent defense from Jack Spillane SF & Jerry Cavanaugh SS, and Billy Oar in LCF. The game ball has to go to Jim Donaldson, who I did not even expect to play because of a pulled hamstring. Jim was 3/4 with a triple and 3 RBIS. Billy Oar was also 3/4 with a double and 3 RBIS. Jerry Cavanaugh who is having a career year also was 3/4 with a homerun and 2 RBIS. Jim Einstman, Don Barry & Jack Spillane went 2/3 respectively. Ron Van Den Heuval made a few nice scoops at first base. Bob Russell pitched another good game for the win. The Celtics still trail the Sixers by 1 game for 1st place, but are putting pressure on them with every win.
