To the Editor:
In accordance with Florida Statute, Title XXXIII, Chapter 5, Section 509.233 dogs are not allowed in chairs in outside eating areas. There are numerous rules and regulations that must be met by eating establishments in order to allow dogs (excluding service dogs) in outside seating areas. Specific signage is required, a waterless hand sanitizer shall be at all tables in the designated area and the dog must remain on a leash at all times. I have had numerous dogs in my life and I enjoy them. However, I’m tired of seeing dogs sitting in shopping carts, in grocery stores (excluding service dogs), etc. It would be appreciated if dog owners would understand that not all people want dogs in their life or sitting on a chair that others use.
