Dr. Carson E. Wiedeman, of The Villages, FL unexpectedly went to be with the Lord on October 21, 2016. He was 70 years old and died of anaphylactic shock in The Villages, Florida.
Carson was born in Memphis, TN on November 9, 1945. He attended the University of Virginia and upon graduation he proudly served as a Naval aviator in Vietnam flying A-7’s and later E-2’s. Following Carson’s active duty service in the Navy, he attended dental school at the Medical College of Virginia. He opened a dental practice in Virginia Beach where he subsequently continued to serve in the Naval Reserve Dental Corps. In 1992 he retired from Naval service as a Commander. In total, Carson spent 34 years as a dentist in Virginia Beach until he and his wife, Frances, moved to The Villages, Florida.
Carson is survived by his wife Frances Carmichael Wiedeman of 38 years; his daughter Susan Wiedeman Howard of Falls Church, Virginia, and his son Carson “Chip” Wiedeman II, Queensland, Australia. He is also survived by his 5 grandchildren.
A celebration of his life will be held on Wednesday, October 26, 2006 at 10 a.m. at Hope Lutheran Church in The Villages. He will be interred at Arlington National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to The Fisher House Foundation that provides support to sick or injured veterans and their families as well as scholarship programs.
