An Ocala man who drank four Bud Lights at the Dugout Sports Bar was arrested Thursday night by Marion County sheriff’s deputies.
Aaron Lee Fulmer, 54, was driving 42 miles an hour in a 30-mph zone at 11:30 p.m. on Hemlock Road in Ocala when he was pulled over. His speech was slurred and his eyes were bloodshot, according to the arrest report.
“Do me a favor. I beg you. I’ll park this thing,” he told the deputy.
The deputy asked Fulmer if had considered calling a taxi or Uber. Fulmer said he should have.
He failed field sobriety exercises. He refused to provide a breath sample.
In his pocket was a receipt showing he had paid for four 12-ounce Bud Light beers at the Dugout Sports Bar.
A criminal history check revealed that Fulmer had been convicted of DUI in 1982 in Alachua County and in 1991 had refused to submit to a breath test.
He was arrested on charges of driving under the influence and refusal to submit to a breath test.
He was booked on $5,500 bond at the Marion County Jail.
