Driver arrested on DUI charge following accident at Colony Plaza

A Mount Dora man was arrested on a charge of driving under the influence following an accident at 6:19 p.m. Thursday near Colony Cottage shopping plaza.

Robert James Richardson was in his car and apparently had been involved in a rear-end collision at Farner Place and County Road 466A, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.

Richardson failed a field sobriety test and was transported to the Sumter County Detention Center.
