Driver arrested after reportedly drinking at work-related Christmas party

Thomas Scott Allen

A man who said he had been drinking at a work-related Christmas party, was arrested after a traffic stop early Sunday morning in the parking lot of the Microtel Inn in Lady Lake.

Thomas Scott Allen, 37, of Maitland, was pulled over after running a stop sign, according to an arrest report from the Lady Lake Police Department.

He seemed confused, put his hands up in the air and could not understand the police officer.

A marijuana pipe was found in Allen’s pocket and 2.5 grams were found in a glass jar in the vehicle.

He provided breath samples that registered .249 and .262 blood alcohol content.

He was arrested on charges of driving under the influence, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was booked at the Lake County Jail and released after posting $3,000 bond.
