A Summerfield man was arrested on charges of driving under the influence and possession of drug paraphernalia after his car was discovered in a ditch at Rolling Acres Road and U.S. Hwy. 277/441.

Lazaro J. Moya, 36, of Summerfield was in his car with the motor running at about 6 a.m. Oct. 19 when a Lady Lake police officer discovered him.

The officer asked Moya if he had been drinking. Moya told the officer he’d had one beer at a friend’s house, according to the arrest report. However, the officer found two cans of beer in the car and a crack pipe, the arrest report indicated.

Moya is disabed, so Lake EMS was called to the scene to check him out. Once EMS personnel cleared him, Moya was transported to the Lake County Jail where he was booked on charges of driving under the influence and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He posted $2,000 bond and was released.
