A driver with a suspended license was arrested after a three-vehicle crash Monday afternoon on U.S. Hwy. 27/441 at its intersection with Main Street in The Villages.

Patrick Neil Maceachern, 38, of Summerfield, had been southbound in a pickup truck at about 1:30 p.m. when his vehicle rear-ended two other vehicles, according to an arrest report from the Lady Lake Police Department.

Maceachern told police the other vehicles had stopped suddenly, but he was not able to stop in time.

Maceachern had four previous arrests for driving while license suspended, the report indicated.

He was booked at the Lake County Jail on $2,000 bond.
